But the death of Tobb Dell'Oro in the Iranian earthquake - the only American killed - transfigured their lives. Tobb's sister and his fiance - who was badly injured - have created a foundation in Tobb's name. Adele Freedman and Tam Dell'Oro are now managing a tax deductible foundation to fund the building of a school in Bam, Iran. And using interviews, speeches and any forum they can the two are trying to use his death as a way to improve the frayed and fraught relations between The United States and the Iran. On Friday, Tam - head of the Dell'Oro Group in Redwood City - is speaking at a dinner at the Palace of the Fine Arts in San Francisco intended to raise funds or orphans of the quake.
